Let's Get to Know Mindy Degraff
What do you do for fun?
"Anything outside! I love to hike and backcountry ski on the mountain.”
What about work is fun?
“I’ve watched as Poba has grown from a small start-up to a small/midsized company – the growth has been fascinating to watch and be a part of. Oh, and the great Fantasy Football league. I’m currently in 3rd place!”
Whether professionally or personally, what is one thing you’re proud of that happened in the last 3 months?
“I’ve upped my weightlifting routine, and I can attest that it’s never too late to build muscle! I am *ahem* the oldest employee, but I can hang with the 20-somethings as far as push-ups go…”
What advice would you give yourself at age 18?
“Save more money! I am staring down the barrel of retirement, and I started to save much later than I should have.”
What’s your favorite season in Flag, and why?
“Autumn – it’s my birthday season, and I love to see the leaves change.”

The Value of Offering Benefits to Your Team
Why is it important to you to be able to offer benefits to your employees?
“We want to support our team now and in the future – our medical insurance plans mean that our employees don’t need to stress now over unexpected medical expenses, and the 401K plan ensures that they have a great savings vehicle for their future.”
What does it mean to your employees to have benefits available?
“I can’t answer for them – but since most of them enroll in our plans, I can imagine that it is an important part of their compensation package.”
What was the greatest challenge of being able to offer benefits to your team?
“Understanding the benefits plans myself so I could explain them to the employees!”
What do you love about working with Benefit & Financial Strategies?
“Where do I start! They always take my calls when I contact them with questions. Veronica helps me navigate open enrollment every year, and Brandi is helpful when I have 401K questions or issues. Brandi comes to our office and clearly explains the ins and outs of a retirement plan to new enrollees. BFS educates me and my team on all things insurance and retirement planning – they are simply the best!”
