
Michael Sherwood is a financial professional for Benefit and Financial Strategies. Focusing on wealth management, risk protection, portfolio design and financial planning, Mike has been helping clients succeed financially for over twenty years.
Mike graduated from Northern Arizona University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a minor in Psychology. Through high school and college, he worked for Valley National Bank and later Bank One in retail banking. After transitioning to becoming a financial advisor, Mike became a Certified Financial Educator (CFE), teaching on-site financial education courses in conjunction with employers as an employee benefit program. He has also taught personal finance subjects as a guest lecturer at Northern Arizona University.
Dedicated to the art and science of financial planning, Mike creatively approaches each case, looking for ways to develop efficient investment planning strategies. He enjoys the challenge of finding strategies for clients’ concerns and then watching clients respond as they see their plans come to life.
Originally from Oregon, Mike lives in Flagstaff with his wife and three daughters. He cares deeply for the community and serves on the Advisory Council for the College of Arts & Letters at NAU, and he serves as a board member for Habitat for Humanity. Mike enjoys participating in and supporting the performing arts. He also loves spending time outdoors with his family.
