Individuals and families in Sedona, Arizona, have many ways to save for retirement, but it's not always easy to determine the best approach. At Benefit & Financial Services, we help you understand the retirement savings vehicles available and determine how they can help you achieve your goals, including traditional Roth IRAs, simple SEP IRAs, and fixed and variable annuities. Below are some of the services we can help with:
The most common types of individual retirement accounts are traditional and ROTH IRAs. Individual contributions to a traditional IRA are tax-deferred until withdrawal and contributions you make to a Roth plan do not generate an additional tax liability when withdrawn in retirement. As a result, most people benefit from investing retirement savings in various savings products, including both traditional and Roth accounts.
Simple and SEP IRAs are popular retirement savings vehicles among small business owners. The invested funds will grow, tax-deferred, until withdrawal.
When you purchase a fixed or variable annuity, you are essentially buying a future income. With a fixed annuity, your tax-deferred investment grows at a fixed rate over the annuity's term. When you purchase variable annuities, you achieve returns that vary according to the type of investment you choose. Our advisors can help you evaluate different annuities to determine which best fit your current plans and help you achieve your future financial goals.
While savings and investment products make up the bulk of a long-term financial goal, insurance planning is a critical element of every comprehensive financial plan. Accordingly, we offer a suite of insurance products and services to protect Sedona, AZ, families from economic downturns, including life insurance, Medicare supplement plans, long-term care insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and Marketplace consultations. Below are some of the services we can help with:
Long-term care insurance policies may provide coverage for home health and personal care, nursing home care, assisted living facilities, adult daycare centers, community facilities, or a combination of these services. Each individual’s financial goals and circumstances will influence the types of coverage they need, so we work closely with each client to understand their situation and recommend the policies that best suit their needs.
If you receive Medicare benefits during retirement, a Medicare Supplement Plan (often called a Medigap policy) can help pay deductibles, coinsurance, copayments, and other uncovered expenses. Those on Medicare will also need to purchase a private drug plan to cover medications that aren't covered or available through Medicare.
Anyone who qualifies for coverage through the Affordable Care Act can shop for a plan through the public Marketplace. However, many people prefer the help of an experienced consultant to ensure they are purchasing a health insurance plan that meets both their physical and financial needs.
Life insurance is critical to long-term financial planning. If your family relies partly or entirely on your income, life insurance can help cover expenses and provide for them after you pass away.
If injury or illness makes you unable to work, disability income insurance can replace your income (typically between 50 to 70 percent). Without disability income insurance, you may have to use your personal or retirement savings to cover regular expenses and unexpected medical costs.

What is Financial Planning?
Financial Planning is the process of taking a comprehensive look at an individual’s or an organization’s financial situation. The goal of financial planning is to build a specific roadmap to reach your financial goals. Financial planning requires diving into multiple areas of finance, including investing, taxes, savings, retirement, your estate, insurance, and more.
How Do I Invest Money Wisely?
Everyone's financial situation is unique to them. Because of this, the best way to invest will depend on your specific financial situation. It's important to have a detailed understanding of your income and expenses, assets and liabilities, responsibilities, and goals when building a sound investing plan. To ensure you are investing wisely, seek the guidance of a qualified financial planner who can help you maximize your investment while operating within a tolerable level of risk for your situation.
How Much Do I Need to Retire?
Retirement is often the first topic of conversation that people have with their financial professionals. Although many calculators and benchmark numbers are floating around, all of these should be taken with a grain of salt. There is no cookie-cutter answer to how much money an individual will need in retirement because life is full of variables and unforeseen costs. A financial planner can help you prepare for retirement by using their professional experience to walk you through your options and help you to structure your financial assets to provide you with a steady income to support you in your retirement.
How Much is Health Insurance?
Across the United States, Americans pay different amounts for a wide variety of coverage plans. Because of the vast number of health insurance options available there is no easy answer to how much health insurance costs. A qualified professional will be able to guide you through the ins and outs of each option so you can find the one that is a perfect balance between affordability and the coverage you need.
What are Group Benefits?
Group benefits are insurance that covers a group of people. It is common for employers to provide group benefits for their employees as a benefit of working for the company. Group coverage helps reduce premium costs because it reduces the insurance carrier's risk by creating a pool of people to insure who are together for reasons other than obtaining insurance.
