Grand Canyon Conservancy is the official nonprofit partner of Grand Canyon National Park. The organization provides millions of dollars and countless service hours to support the priorities of Grand Canyon National Park by raising funds, operating retail shops throughout the park, and offering premier educational programs.
Offering group benefits is a meaningful way the Grand Canyon Conservancy has been able to give back to its employees, who dedicate their time to protecting the park and providing enriching and fulfilling visitor experiences. With the support of our team, their employees have them. Lisa Graham, the HR Manager for the Grand Canyon Conservancy, was kind enough to share her experience working with us to provide the team with benefits.

Stick with it!

105.
What benefits do you currently offer to your employees?
We offer medical, dental, and vision insurance and contributions to Health Savings Accounts (HSAs). We also offer a subscription to the Calm app for mental wellness. Additionally, we offer life insurance, long-term disability insurance, and have a 401(k) retirement plan to help our employees save for their future.
The Value of Offering Benefits to Your Team
Why is it important to you to be able to offer benefits to your employees?
We are all about work life balance at our organization, so providing benefits provides the peace of mind that our employees can get the care they need.
What does it mean to your employees to have benefits available?
It's super important. It's a big factor in their consideration for working for us.
What was the greatest challenge of being able to offer benefits to your team?
The challenge is always ensuring affordability for both our employees and the organization, but it's incredibly rewarding to be able to offer benefits to so many of our team members. While we have 105 employees in total, only about 60 of them are eligible for benefits. I remember how excited we were when we surpassed the 50-employee mark and could offer benefits to more staff.
What do you love about working with Benefit & Financial Strategies?
I really appreciate working with Veronica because she is always very responsive. Whenever I have questions, she gets back to me within 24 hours. What I love most is that I don't have to be the expert on everything. I can direct my employees to her, especially when they have questions about Medicare as they prepare for retirement. Veronica will sit down with them, have an appointment, and explain everything. This support is incredibly helpful for me, managing a small HR department.
